Let the Game Begin!

Sheilah's TRUTH, DARE and CONSEQUENCES

What you may not know is Sheilah, our Truth and Dare contestant, is actually the namesake for the Smokin’ Hot Mama Club.  Last November she was at a cross road in life and was tired of being the single mom that was always stressed-out, worn-out, out of luck, out of time with more month left at the end of her money, all while lacking the self-confidence to change it.  She made a comment that would forever change me . . . she said, “Pamela, I don’t want to just be a Mom with no purpose or happiness – I want to be a Smokin’ Hot Mama – I want to be my best.”  And thus, the Smokin’ Hot Mama Club was born!

How ironic the very person this Club was created around would find herself at that same cross road again - and once again she has inspired me to the core.  So, now that you’ve met Sheilah join us for the first leg of her journey as she accepts the DARE to make a life change.

Sometimes people don’t do well because they don’t feel well.  They don’t feel well because they aren’t taking care of themselves.  They aren’t taking care of themselves because they have found a comfy seat on the back burner.  The back burner SUCKS!

Sheilah set up shop on the back burner.  With 4 sons, no husband, no family close, and a full time job as a nanny to twin 2 year old girls, the other burners were FULL!  Changing that is no easy task, but she’s doing it.  Just watch her!

First, Sheilah needs to feel well again in order to do well and as we learned, feeling well starts with taking care of SHEILAH!

August 1st through August 3rd ~  Let the Game Begin!

SHEILAH’s TRUTH:
For years I've said I don't have time to take care of me, when the truth is I do have time when I make time.
Hitting the snooze button for the extra Z’s doesn’t even remotely compare to the feeling of getting up and being my best.
Wear the right bra when running – had a little Baywatch moment there!  I have GOT to remember to strap Elsa and Gurta down a bit better!
Giving up in the middle of a run makes me feel like crap
New career – having a hard time with direction.  Feeling like I need to pick a direction if I’m ever going to go anywhere.
I want to be one of those women that everyone looks at her and says, “she started out as a single mother with nothing and look at where she is now!”
I lost my IPod and was convinced I couldn’t exercise without it - I found out I don’t have to have it to be motivated. It’s actually a great time to meditate.
I’m out of the ditch and on track again.

SHEILAH’s DARE:
Get up every morning by 6 a.m. (Monday through Saturday)
Go from giving up on a 20 minute run to running 30 minutes straight
Start a food journal
Reading articles from the Women’s Success Magazine website for inspiration from real life success stories
Dream about what I want my life to be like, write it down and start believing I'm good enough
Listening to Jim Rohn downloads to change my mental picture

SHEILAH'S CONSEQUENCES:
Lost 2 pounds
Already mentoring other Mamas on making positive changes in their life on the fan page
Creative ideas hatching
Changed attitude - Love watching things change little by little every day.  Ready to make more good things happen.
Plan today how I want tomorrow’s post work-out photo to look (‘WooHoo I did it’ VERSUS ‘What the heck was that Sheilah?’)

Sheilah is now FEELING WELL and you know what that means, she can now DO WELL!!!  Game on Sheilah, game on!

My dear AMAZING Sheilah!! When I read your words I hear your voice in my mind, your reference to the "girls" made me laugh!! You are such an amazing person. When we were kids, I was always so in aww of your artistic talent. You are so beautiful (and you struggle to see it) and you are very strong. I have seen you grow and I have seen you hurt, struggle and want to give up...but you don't. This journey we are on is a difficult one. Ther are times that it down right SUCKS, BUT we are not alone!!! I love you beautiful and I belive in you! I am proud of you. Even though you have had a set back you have come so far!! Just think how we will rock our return to the Jack Frost 5K!! and you WILL do great on the 1/2 Marathon!

You have inspired me...I have been knocked down and always found myself getting back up, but this time has been harder. your Dare has given me an insight on setting new goals for me to be the best I can be and to get better and healthier for my family also! A Smokin Hot Mama is what I want to be and I can do it! I can get back up, shake the sand off of me and start over! Just because I have been sick in 2010 doesn't mean the year is over, I just got a slow start and today is the beginning for my journey.
